Indiana University Classroom/Administrative Building
Shiel Sexton was selected to deliver the new classroom/administrative building at Indiana University in a design/build approach. Three different Science departments are located in this new 28,000 sf. consisting of a variety of classrooms, labs, offices, and lecture space. The eight month project was completed in August 2007, in time for the 2007-2008 academic year.

The project team encountered several challenges on this project, including buried fiber optics lines below the construction site.  Crews were extremely cautious while completing sitework to avoid any disturbances to campus communications services during construction.  The project also took place in the middle of the campus with classes in session for the entirety of the project. Site restraints and limited staging area increased the complexity of coordination for early morning material delivery before classes started.
