The Buick Building
Shiel Sexton Real Estate
This former Buick Showroom, originally constructed in 1923, received restored windows, rehabilitated interiors, and new electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems during the three-month renovation.
As the project team updated the building’s interior for tenant/office space use, it did so with the lofty goal of obtaining LEED®-CI Gold from the U.S. Green Building Council. The building boasts such sustainable amenities as a white roof, water use reducing fixtures, green power, shower facilities and bike racks, as well as water-efficient landscaping.
Upon completion, USGBC reviewed the project documentation and deemed the Buick Building remodel to be LEED®-CI Gold Certified. This is the first LEED® Certified project Shiel Sexton constructed and certified under the new LEED® Online V.3 system.
