Shiel Sexton once again worked with KIB on a community improvement project after previously participating in five other greenspace projects at Shelton Heights, Capital City Church of Christ, Christian Park, and Rhodes Park. Our tasks have ranged from planting trees to putting together playground equipment to building a 12’ tall wooden pavilion.
Fun fact: We built KIB’s Fletcher Avenue headquarters back in 2008!
We added fencing around the space, planted trees and perennials, built a stone seating wall for residents, added a shed to the greenspace, created accessible garden beds, constructed an entry pergola, made a compost area, and planted trees in the neighborhood.
This greenspace provides residents with a safe and useful space to plant, garden and come together as a community.
It’s a joy to bring our employees together and give back to a community that’s given so much to us! KIB helps us create truly revolutionized spaces by the end of the project that generate positive outcomes for the community. These places matter.
