Shiel Sexton provided construction management services for the renovation and expansion of the FedEx Ground Package Distribution Center in Indianapolis. The project includes 61,000 SF of expansion to the existing facility to provide additional package handling conveyor lines, as well as additional parking space and renovations to the office areas. This also includes a 2,000 SF expansion to the existing maintenance garage.
One of the major obstacles to overcome during this project was project coordination, due to the owner’s request to maintain continual operations during the construction period. This was especially important during the holidays, which is one of FedEx Ground’s busiest seasons.
