Indiana State University Federal Hall- Scott College of Business
Indiana State University
Shiel Sexton was general contractor on renovation of Indiana State University’s Federal Hall, home of the Scott College of Business. The $11 million project included historic renovation of the Terre Haute Federal Courthouse and U.S. Post Office originally constructed in 1935.The scope of work included extensive demolition, revamped building layout, and MEP system upgrades all while working around historic rooms and corridors. An addition to the south side of the building provides a linkage to the downtown business community and capitalizes on natural daylight for new office and student spaces. Preservation was one of the primary goals of the extensive renovation project including many of the building’s trademarks and elaborate finishes. The design integrated modern technology and learning spaces within the historic fabric of the building. The project earned LEED® Silver.
